HENDERSON, NV / ACCESSWIRE / February 20, 2019 / In the last month, the CBD space has had some interesting developments, mostly in relation to its relationship to the beverage industry. Well-known CBD names are partnering with some of the biggest conglomerates in the beverage sector and others are launching their own new proprietary CBD beverage lines. One new major trend are beverage companies investing and partnering up with CBD companies.

In November 2018, Canopy Growth Corporation (CGC) (Market Cap: $15.844B, Share Price: $46.39) received $4 billion investment from Constellation Brands (STZ) (Market Cap: $33.173B, Share Price: $174.72) for a 38% stake in the company. Constellation Brands is a leading international producer and marketer of beer, wine and spirits with operations throughout the world. Their partnership with Canopy Growth, a diversified cannabis and hemp company, may have signaled to the rest of the market place that the market for beverages with new CBD infusions could turn out to be very popular with consumers.

In December 2018, Tilray, Inc. (TLRY) (Market Cap: $7.176B, Share Price: $77.03)announced a $100M deal with Anheuser-Busch InBev to form a partnership to research cannabis-infused drinks for the Canadian market. Both companies will each be investing $50M in the project to study non-alcoholic drinks containing cannabidiol or CBD.

Another major developing trend are beverage companies starting their own CBD and Hemp-Infused beverages.

The first product to rollout is anticipated to be Marley+CBD Mellow Mood, relaxation drinks in 15.5 oz cans with 25 mg of pharmaceutical grade CBD per serving.
